Fiery start to the year

Sunday Team Update

It feels like yesterday when we talked to you at the Activities Fair while, in fact, a whole month has already passed! What an incredible start of the year. An unbelievable number of people wanted to get involved. For all of them we ran two very successful Free Pizza welcome events where we managed to inspire many to join our team. Last Saturday, we spent a whole day training our 50+ new team members in all relevant Enactus skills with the help of four Enactus UK Alumni mentors coming from London and Glasgow. Now with everyone settled into their projects and positions, it's time to take our businesses to the next level. Slurp Soups starts the year with £10,000 in grants funding and an event catering job, couple more local and international projects are in the works, while the marketing team is on fire. We partnered with the International Development Society and are bringing to you an evening of talks on social innovation and entrepreneurship, including Alice Thompson, co-founder of Social Bite (the social cafe that saw Leonardo Di Caprio, George Clooney, and Jeremy Corbyn visit).

On a different note, here's a highlight from our Facebook page:

We'd also love to share the following event we are co-hosting:

I'm now going back to working on my dissertation (will probably end up doing Enactus business plans instead)... You'll hear again from us in a week or two about the next round of positive Enactus Edinburgh news.

Much love, the Enactus Edinburgh Team
